Vector Vortex 10kW+ Electric Dirt Bike

The Vector Vortex 10kW+ is a powerful electric dirt bike built around a robust steel frame and mid-mounted electric drivetrain. Developed for demanding off-road conditions, the Vortex combines high electric motor output with a programmable controller, long-travel suspension and hydraulic disc brakes.

Vector specifies a 72V electrical system, more than 10,000W maximum motor output and a published top speed above 80km/h. The manufacturer also offers an optional 3.8kWh lithium battery for extended-distance riding.

The Vector Vortex is intended for permitted off-road use. Its high power and unrestricted speed must not be confused with a conventional road-approved electric bicycle.

Key Features

  • 10kW+ motor output: Mid-mounted electric motor with more than 10,000W published maximum power.
  • 72V electrical system: Battery platform with an optional 3.8kWh lithium pack.
  • Steel frame: High-strength motorcycle-style chassis with extended seating space.
  • Kelly 300A controller: Programmable Kelly 7230S motor controller.
  • Reverse, Eco and Boost: Selectable riding functions for different operating conditions.
  • DNM front suspension: USD8SA air fork with approximately 200mm travel.
  • Hydraulic disc brakes: Four-piston Tektro Auriga components and 203mm rotors in the technical specification.
  • Multiple colours: Black, Green, White and Blue options advertised by the retailer.

High-Performance Mid-Mounted Electric Motor

The Vector Vortex features a centrally positioned electric motor designed to support balanced weight distribution and responsive power delivery.

The manufacturer’s technical information describes a custom 16-pole motor using 50mm neodymium magnets, with a published rotational-speed figure of 850rpm.

Maximum motor power exceeds 10,000W. Continuous rated power is not separately established in the publicly available specifications.

Vector publishes a maximum speed above 80km/h, depending on the motorcycle’s battery, gearing, controller settings and operating conditions.

72V Lithium Battery System

The Vortex uses a nominal 72V electrical platform. The manufacturer advertises an optional lithium-ion battery with approximately 3.8kWh capacity.

This high-capacity option is intended to support longer journeys between charging sessions under suitable operating conditions.

Because the manufacturer identifies the 3.8kWh pack as an optional battery, buyers should confirm whether it is included in the specific Vortex being supplied.

Long-Distance Electric Riding Range

With the optional 3.8kWh battery, Vector advertises more than 200km of range at an average 35km/h without pedalling.

This is a manufacturer-published range estimate under specified test conditions, not a guaranteed result during demanding dirt-bike riding.

Actual range depends on terrain, gradients, rider weight, acceleration, temperature and battery condition. Frequent high-power acceleration and rough off-road conditions can significantly reduce the available distance.

Battery Charging

Vector’s technical specification lists a charging time of approximately 120 minutes.

The published data does not clearly define the starting and ending battery percentages or confirm that every battery and charger combination reaches a full charge in that time.

Charging duration depends on the battery supplied, charger rating, temperature and initial state of charge.

Kelly 300A Programmable Controller

The Vector Vortex is equipped with a custom Kelly 7230S controller rated at 300A.

Programmable controller settings allow supported power-delivery characteristics to be adjusted according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Changes to electrical settings should be performed only by suitably qualified persons. Improper adjustments can affect vehicle operation and component reliability.

Reverse, Eco and Boost Riding Functions

The Vortex provides three selectable power functions: Reverse, Eco and Boost.

Eco mode can limit maximum speed to approximately 25km/h, while Boost provides access to stronger off-road motor performance. Reverse is intended for appropriate low-speed manoeuvring.

These functions help tailor the motorcycle’s behaviour to different riding situations.

However, a programmable 25km/h Eco mode does not establish road approval or qualify this high-powered electric dirt bike as a legal German pedelec.

High-Strength Steel Frame

The Vector Vortex uses a strong steel frame designed around a relatively large battery compartment and centrally positioned motor.

The manufacturer’s standalone frame specification lists a 14kg frame weight and a 150kg maximum rider-load rating for the frame component.

This component-level rating must not be assumed to be the certified carrying capacity of every fully assembled Vortex motorcycle.

The complete motorcycle’s published reference weight is approximately 69kg, depending on configuration.

Extended Seat and Passenger Considerations

Vector describes a frame and seat layout with enough space for two people and notes that the frame can accept two sets of footpegs.

These design features do not by themselves establish an approved two-person carrying capacity for the complete electric motorcycle.

Before carrying a passenger, confirm the complete vehicle’s permitted load, fitted passenger equipment and suitability for the intended riding environment.

200mm DNM Front Suspension

The manufacturer specifies a custom DNM USD8SA air suspension fork offering approximately 200mm front travel.

The front suspension is intended to help maintain wheel control over uneven riding surfaces and during off-road manoeuvres.

Fork pressure and suspension settings should be adjusted according to rider weight and terrain.

DNM Rear Suspension

The rear suspension specification identifies a DNM Burner 2S shock with a 220mm component dimension and spring configurations listed at 650lb or 850lb.

The separate Vortex frame product lists adjustable rear suspension geometry with a published 190–240mm range. This should not be treated as a universal rear-wheel travel measurement for every complete bike.

Confirm the installed rear shock, spring and suspension configuration before advertising specific travel or load figures.

Four-Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes

The Vector Vortex technical specification identifies Tektro Auriga hydraulic disc brakes with four-piston callipers.

The manufacturer lists 203mm brake rotors at the front and rear.

Proper maintenance of brake pads, rotors, hydraulic lines and callipers is essential for safe off-road operation.

Wheel and Tyre Configuration

The manufacturer’s public technical table does not establish a single fixed wheel and tyre arrangement for every Vortex configuration.

The Vortex frame is designed to support configurable motorcycle components, so wheel dimensions must be checked on the actual vehicle.

Always verify fitted tyre and rim sizes before purchasing replacements or making fitment claims.

Maintenance and Durability

Although the electric powertrain avoids fuel-system maintenance, the Vector Vortex still requires routine servicing.

Regular checks should cover tyres, brakes, suspension, frame hardware, drivetrain components, electrical wiring, connectors and battery condition.

Charging and battery storage should follow the instructions supplied with the actual motorcycle.

Off-Road Use and German Road Regulations

The Vector Vortex is designed for off-road riding. No German public-road type approval has been established for the reviewed configuration.

Its high motor output and unrestricted speed are not consistent with a conventional EU electrically assisted bicycle.

Setting Eco mode to 25km/h does not independently make the Vortex road-legal. Use it only in permitted locations unless the specific vehicle has the necessary type approval and registration documents.

Why Choose the Vector Vortex 10kW+?

The Vector Vortex combines a powerful centrally positioned motor, robust steel frame, programmable Kelly controller and adjustable off-road suspension.

With the appropriate battery and component configuration, it offers an alternative for experienced riders seeking a configurable high-performance electric dirt bike.

Before purchasing from Talaria Bike Sale, confirm the included battery, controller, fitted suspension and brakes, wheel sizes, final price, stock, charger and available delivery arrangements.
